Welcome to DLHC

Fashion design is about more than an idea and a look. It is about gaining essential skills needed to.

Fashion designers need to be artistic and creative, while working with people you should be able to express your ideas in sketches. You don’t have to be a artist but you should be able to combine colour, shade and tone in an original and practical fashion. Develop good designer habits while you are carrying a note or sketch book everywhere you go for inspiration e.g. in art galleries, the street, current events and pop culture.

Marketing, Textiles and Business knowledge wouldn’t hurt either – while creativity is you bread and butter, don’t be ignorant towards the business side of the fashion world.
To do “Fashion Design” as a job properly, you need a firm background in both the creative and business sides of the fashion industry. Need to know the design techniques, principles, tools and instruments involved in the production and precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. But you also need to analyze necessary requirements, visit textile manufacturers to evaluate fabrics, and handle the arrangements for buyers and the press.

Are you in love with fashion and dream up entire clothing lines in your sleep?
Do you want to sketch your ideas on paper, draw up your own patterns or sew any garment that comes to mind? - You can, by working hard, enhance your skills, and getting education – theoretical and practical training.

Design your fashion future with education from DLHC School of fashion.

Fashion Design as a career

Fashion designers create clothing and accessory designs, but their jobs are for more involved than merely sketching some new clothes. Among other tasks, designers draw and cut patterns to make sample garments, select fabric and trimmings, fit and modify the finished garment and, of course, keep up-to-date with the latest fashion trends (especially those of competitors!). Many designers specialize in a particular type of clothing or accessory, such as men’s or woman’s clothing, children’s clothing, Lingerie, shoes, etc. Most design teams consist of a head designer and several assistants, whose jobs are to make first patterns and samples and assist the designer in his/her various tasks.
